Srinagar, Mar 15 (KNO): Of 32 sanctioned posts of medicos at Sub District Hospital Pahalgam, 15 are lying vacant, the government informed the Legislative Assembly on Saturday.
Replying to the question of MLA Altaf Ahmad Wani on the Pahalgam hospital in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, Minister for Health and Medical Education Department as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that there is a single-storey building comprising dental section, 02 wards, x-ray section, general OPD, gynae room, 02 store room, Jan Aushadi room, one laboratory and one theatre and double-storey residential quarters for the hospital staff.
"The hospital is equipped with essential diagnostic and therapeutic equipment to deliver the services, which inter-alia includes CRC Analyzer, Biochemistry Analyzer. Urine Analyzer. Dental chair, Dental x-ray, Ultrasound machine, x-ray plant, portable x-ray, blood cell rotator etc," she said, as per KNO.
She added that sanctioned staff strength of the hospital is 32 and among them 17 are in position while 15 are lying vacant.
"In addition to the existing setup, a new 50-bedded budding is under construction through R&B at an approved cost of 1990.00 lakhs. Superstructure is complete and finishing works are in progress. The project is targeted to be completed in FY 2025-26, and it will help us upgrade healthcare services,” the Health Minister said.
"Vacancies are being referred to the recruiting agency for making suitable selections. As and when the lists are received, the posts shall be filled-up to improve manpower availability. Provision of machinery/equipment in hospitals is a continuous process undertaken every year in a phased manner to prioritize the requirements on need basis and patient footfall." Itoo said, as per KNO.
Referring to the drug-de addiction facilities in South Kashmir, Itoo said, "There are two functional centers where the drug abuse victims are treated i.e. ATF GMC Anantnag and ATF under JK Police Anantnag."—(KNO)
